About us

About us

Oaxaca Bahia de la Luna bar mezcal

The hotel contains 14 cabañas (4 with open-air kitchens) located on three levels; beach, hillside, and hilltop with the majority boasting a unique sea view. From the fresh fruit and organic coffee served with the free continental breakfast 'til the last gourmet cocktail or local mezcal at evening's end, our acclaimed kitchen/bar provides the finest of Oaxacan-fusion cuisine and cocktails just a few sandy steps from the ocean. Relax or... enjoy our floating beachside palapa beds, use our snorkels to discover an abundance of tropical fish, explore hidden beaches with our free kayaks & paddle-boards, or bump 'n set some volleyball. Then cap the evening strumming the house guitar around the beach bonfire on La Boquilla's half-moon bay. Sunrise boat rides allow our guests to get up close and personal with our local sea life... whales, turtles, dolphins y más. Daily massages and yoga are yours for the asking.

Pet Policy:

Hotel Bahia de la Luna appreciates and understands that many travelers wish to be accompanied by their pets and we try to accommodate them. We ask that dogs be well mannered, not barking nor aggressive, and that they be leashed when in the restaurant or around the beach furniture. Pets do, however, create increased cleaning and maintenance costs and do impact the experience of some other guests.

The hotel now has a surcharge of $100 pesos per animal per night.

Topless/Nude Bathing:

The community of Arroyo Cruz is against topless or nude bathing on Playa La Boquilla and Hotel Bahia de la Luna respects their wishes by not encouraging this activity within the hotel-controlled portions of the beach, our palapas, or restaurant area. Should visitors or guests insist on this behavior we strongly suggest that they do so in the more remote areas of the beach and that they are sensitive to our local population’s feelings.

We are proud of our eco-friendly accommodations and want to share this natural living with our guests.

We strive to live out the saying "less is more" (Wabi-Sabi).

Singles, couples, families, and groups all enjoy living la vida La Boquilla.

Oaxaca is a beautiful, culturally-rich, and biologically-diverse state located in Southwest México. The remnants of the Zapotec and Mixtec cultures can be found on Monte Albán outside of the colorful, capital city of Oaxaca de Juarez. The state is known for its amazing food (it is considered Mexico’s culinary capital), super colorful textiles, mountainous landscapes, and beautiful beaches.
